Ark-La-Miss Division Meeting - April 7, 2001


On April 7, 2001, at 9 p.m., Division Chair, Scott Harkey called the meeting to order. Sixteen people were present including eight members over 18 years old representing 3 clubs in the division.

Division secretary, Sharron Settlemire, read the minutes from last meeting. Chair entertained motion from Lydia Rich to accept, seconded by Doc Matthews. Minutes were approved unanimously.

Division treasurer, Lydia Rich, read the treasurer's report. Motion to accept was made by Doc Matthews, seconded by Josh Roberts. The report was approved unanimously.

Old business was discussed.

New Business

Division chair, Scott Harkey, set out goals for the coming year.

Election of new officers was conducted

Sharron Settlemire nominated Scott Harkey (Caddo Magnet Fencing) for continued chairman, it was agreed by acclamation.

Scott Harkey nominated Chris Westfall (Little Rock) for Vice-chair, accepted by acclamation.

Sharron Settlemire nominated Terry Harkey (Caddo Magnet Fencing) and Doc Matthews nominated David Williams (Mississippi Academy of Arms) for secretary. Terry Harkey was elected 6-1.

Terry Harkey nominated Lydia Rich (Caddo Magnet Fencing) to remain as treasurer, which was agreed in acclamation.

Doc Matthews (Ole Miss Fencing/Oxford Parks Commission) will represent his clubs as executive committee chairman along with David Williams, and one from each club in the division.

Scott Harkey nominated Doc Matthews as USFA Liaison for this year, accepted by acclamation.

Doc Matthews moved the meeting adjourn. Heartily seconded by everyone and acclaimed by leaving.

Executive Committee
     Will include one member from each club in the Division. They members are to be selected or appointed by each respective club. This is an advisory committee with non-voting privileges.
