Ark-La-Miss Division Meeting

April, 2007  3:00 pm

Caddo Magnet High School Gym, Shreveport, LA

I.       Call to Order (3:00 p.m.)

Attendance: Voting Members:

Caddo Magnet Alumni Fencers and Friends – Scott Harkey, Terry Harkey, Evelyn Scarborough, Catherine Vanderloos

Cinton Fencing Club – Richard Jones, Roger Bradford

Division Members – Nicholas Diacou

II.          Old Business

               A.  Reading of the minutes

                       Since the minutes have been available for reading online for months, it was suggested they be accepted without reading.

MOTION: Approve minutes of Annual Meeting 4/06

Seconded.  Unanimous

               B.  Reading of the Treasurer’s Report

                       Treasurer’s report presented by Scott Harkey.

MOTION: Approve treasury report for 2005-2006 season to present.

    Seconded.  Unanimous

C.    Liaison Expenses

       There is no language about who is to pay for tournament liaison outside the host club.

MOTION: If not practical for a liaison outside of the host club, then chair will appoint a person for the bout committee to perform that function.

    Seconded.  Unanimous

D.    Unneeded office of 2^nd Vice Chair

Since the division circuit has ceased to exist, the officer position created to develop/oversee that circuit is no longer needed, and will be addressed at the next membership meeting for vote to remove office.

E.   Effort to reunite Mississippi

Richard discussed his desire to reunite Mississippi now that Jonathan no longer resides in our division and the coast clubs that have revived wish to be part of ALM.  Richard will look into it.  Vote at next meeting.

III.         New Business

            Election of officers

                  A.   Chair entertained nominations for officers. 

                        1.  Stacey Hand for Treasurer

                        2.  Terry Harkey for Secretary

                        3.  Scott Harkey for Vice Chair

                        4.  Richard Jones  for Chair

MOTION:  Nominations close.  Seconded.  Unanimous   

MOTION:  Nominations be approved by acclamation.  Seconded. Unanimous.

IV.          Adjournment

MOTION:  Adjourn.   Seconded.  Unanimous.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
