Four brave Ark-La-Miss souls attended the last SSCC of the season held in Dallas. Even two Magnet students rejected their prom and opted for the small but highly rated Degall Memorial and Eric Wang Epee Events.
Evelyn Scarborough (SFC) is resting her injured hand, but still made top 4 in the women's event even fencing left handed! Elise Ackley (CADMFC) finished 17th in the same event placing in the middle of her classification.
Noam Platt (CADMFC) won his first d.e. in the foil event but then hit the wall with former Magnet fencer Rob Janca. Platt finished a very commendable 22nd place - the highest U in the very top heavy tournament.
Sabre could also be described as top heavy. Douglas Smith (FASF) faired well finishing 20th (the 2nd highest U.) He also competed in the mixed epee where he placed 46th.
This was the last SSCC event for the season and final results and awards for SSCC will be given at the Southwest Section Championship, held in Oklahoma City on May 1-2.
