SHREVEPORT,
LA - Two Caddo Magnet fencers made the top 4 this weekend at the Southwest
Sectional Qualifiers. Philip Hand and Samantha Pullen both finished
forth.
Hand beat Sean Smith of Houston to get into the 8, then he edged out fellow teammate Brian Day 15-13 in the Junior Men's Sabre event. Hand missed qualifying by 1 in the 10 man event.

Pullen upset 4th seed Jennifer Bralick to get into the four, then lost to 1st seed Melissa Tees. All 7 of the women's sabre fencers qualified for summer nationals.
